Sarha Rapa

Sarha Rai Rapa, age 50, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017. Rai was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 18, 1967. She is survived by her husband, Erik Rapa; son, Freddy Jonathan (Jacklene) Jones; grandchildren, Leeanna Grace, Chandler Gage and Liam Wade Jones; step-daughter, Anna Maria Rapa; mother, Margarite Collins; mother in-law, Olivia Rapa; sister, Helen (John) Griffen; brothers, Jimmy Swain, Otis Collins, William Collins, Jr. and Ernie Collins; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. Rai worked in several industries, including heating and cooling, mental health and trucking. She took an interest in modeling, old cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Rai loved her dog, Grumpy, and took him along on her truck driving trips. She was a fan of the author, James Patterson and the TV show, Sons of Anarchy. She also enjoyed crime shows, especially Homicide Hunter with Lt. Joe Kenda; she even had an autographed picture from him. Rai loved roses and kept every rose her husband gave her. She had a giving spirit, heart of gold and positive attitude that will be missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 3:00 PM at 6549 Twilight Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49048. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan, c/o the funeral home.
