Sandra Nichols

Nichols, Sandra Jean "Sandy" Sandra "Sandy" Jean Nichols, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. She was born May 25, 1938 in Kalamazoo to the late Aquilla and Thena (Baxter) Smith. Sandy was full of love and kindness. Everyone around her became better people by knowing her. She was fortunate enough to be able to stay home and raise her four children prior to working 20 years at UpJohn's. Sandy enjoyed baking, shopping, and decorating at Christmas time followed by a margarita or two with her best friend, Pat. However, she found the most joy when a new family member was brought into this world. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 63 years, Robert Nichols; siblings, Shirley (Cliff) Catherman, Diana (Jack) Shumaker, Danny Smith, Jimmy Smith; and best friend, Pat (Jim) Johnson. She is survived by her children, Cindi (Ray) Harris, Lynn Scaturro, Ashley (Sandy) Nichols, and Aaron (Tamara) Nichols; grandchildren, Jordan (Jennie Roach) Harris, Trevor (Kayt) Harris, Alisha (Andrew) Krolik, Corey Scaturro, Kara (Nate Zalenski) Scaturro, Mackenzie Nichols, Mayze Nichols, and Dominic Nichols; great-grandchildren, Anders, Lainey, Larsen, and Gaia; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 1-3:00PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. The funeral home and family respectfully ask everyone to wear masks and keep social distancing as much as possible. A memorial service and luncheon will follow the visitation at Cindi's home.
