Sandra Jackson

Sandra "Sandy" Lee Jackson, 79, of Portage, passed away January 22, 2019. She was born June 19, 1939 in Kalamazoo to the late Max and Pearl (Findley) Barfelz. Sandy was proud of her children. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids at the apple orchard or setting up Easter egg hunts. She and her husband were hockey season ticket holders for years until his passing; she especially enjoyed going to these games with her family. Sandy loved blue birds, gardening, walks in the park, and shopping for deals. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Michael C. Jackson; her daughter Lisa White; and brothers, Earl, Gale, and Eugene Barfelz. She is survived by her son, Mark (Kathy) Jackson; sister, Cheryl (Mike) Pratt; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; and two feline companions. A memorial service will take place Saturday, January 26 for immediate family members; announcements will be made at a later date for a memorial service for family and friends. Sandra will be laid to rest on Wednesday, 5/29/2019 at 2:00 PM at Fort Custer National cemetery with her husband Michael Charles Jackson.
