Surrounded by her loving family, Sandra A. Fredericks, age 68, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at her residence, after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Sandra was born in Milwaukee, February 10, 1947, daughter of Robert and Mildred (Nee: Melms) Roepke.

On June 3, 1967 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Thomas J. Fredericks. Sandra was an administrative assistant for Carthage College for twenty-four years. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Sandra’s pastimes included bingo, sewing, pottery, stained glass, and tending to her flower garden. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, New Orleans, Biloxi, San Francisco, Martha’s Vineyard, and Alaska. More than anything she cherished time spent with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of forty-eight years, Thomas; her children, Thomas (Andrea) Fredericks of Carmel, IN, Michele (Jim) Ludvigsen of Kenosha, Deborah (Joe) Fredericks-Thoennes of Racine, Danielle (Kevin) Stindle of Fishers, IN, Nicole (Tim) Stauffacher of Frankfurt, IL, Greg Fredericks of Racine, Melissa (Jose) Mendez of Racine; 14 grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, and Leah Fredericks, Drake, Sydney, and Maggie Ludvigsen, Mariska and Brennah Thoennes, Shaynin, Addison, and Tessa Stindle, Aaron, Naomi, and Ryan Stauffacher; her father, Robert Roepke of Milwaukee; sister, Bonnie (Jerry) Nabak of Waukesha; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol Roepke of Milwaukee, Dolores Olmstead, Joan (Don) Hoaglund, Patricia (Roy) Radke, Roberta Noe, Jerry Fredericks; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Roepke; brother, Robert Roepke; sister-in-law, Lois Rode; and brother-in-law, Ronald Fredericks.

Adult friends and family are welcome to join us for a celebration of Sandy’s life at Kenosha Country Club, 500 13th Ave, on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 20, 2015, 12:00 P.M. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 12:00 P.M. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Memorials to the family for a charitable project that Sandy planned has been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the ALS Association of Milwaukee and Heartland Hospice for their loving and compassionate care provided.
