Sally R. Tessmer, age 86, passed away on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at the Elizabeth Residence in Franklin. Sally was born in Racine on February 22, 1930, daughter of the late Harold and Ruth (nee: Hansen) Wald and was a lifelong resident.

She was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1948”. Sally was united in marriage to the love of her life, Earl Tessmer on September 18, 1954 at Atonement Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member. She was married to Earl for nearly thirty-nine years before he passed away on May 14, 1993. Sally was a lifelong member of Atonement Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, bowling and her time spent with her friends in her card clubs.

Sally will be missed by her nephews and nieces, Patrick Peach, Kelly (Terry) Ayers, Sally Ann Peach, Guy Bleichner; great niece and great nephew, Alyx and Jarrett Ayers; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Sally was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and George Peach and niece, Margaret “Peggy” Bleichner.

Funeral services will be held at Living Faith Lutheran Church (formerly Atonement), 2915 Wright Ave, on Monday August 15, 2016, 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Warren Williams officiating. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to the Salvation Army or St. Jude’s Hospital have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at the Elizabeth Residence for all of their loving and compassionate care.
