Sally J. Carson

Found peace on Sept. 29, 2018, age 84 years. Beloved wife of the late Richard. Cherished mother of Tracey (Bill Zaferos) Carson and Dirk (Carol) Carson. Loving grandmother of Haley and Alex (fiancée, Christine Jennings) Carson. Dearest fiancé of Terry Marshall. Further survived by other relatives and a fiercely loyal tribe of friends.

Sally was a force who carried herself with grace and dignity. Her career began by inspiring young people to embrace music and understand its power to transform. Later she established and as President and CEO ran Innovative Interiors. Her impressive list of clients were among Milwaukee's biggest corporations and private residences, and her impeccable taste was well respected.

Sally's philanthropic and volunteer work was vast, notably as a docent for the Milwaukee Art Museum, board of director work for the College Endowment for the Arts and donating her creative skills to multiple Breast Cancer Awareness homes.

But, Sally's greatest joy came in family who represent her legacy of love. There was never a birthday, holiday or an accomplishment that went without celebration. The Carson family is a small but mighty crew and its matriarch was a joyful, loving, mischievous, generous leader.

In Pennsylvania, Sally was born to a father who was a postal carrier whose wife contracted polio ultimately resulting in Quadriplegia, but was still able to give birth to Sally.

She met her future husband, graduated from college and together Dick and Sally Carson began a decades-long life together which culminated in a final move to Wisconsin.

To know Sally was to know love, joy, generosity and, of course, her family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church 1100 N. Astor Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202. Family and friends will continue to celebrate Sally's life following the service from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm at 1451 Renaissance Place, located at 1451 N. Prospect Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53202.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wisconsin Conservatory of Music (1584 N. Prospect Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53202) or the Milwaukee Art Museum (c/o Sara Tomilin, 626 E. Wisconsin Ave. Floor 16, Milwaukee, WI 53202) are appreciated.
