Sallie Pettit

Sallie Lee Pettit (nee Cole) 84 of Milwaukee passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Robert Wade Pettit, her children Rita Cooper, Ruth (Robert) Duket, Camille Taylor, Cindy (Geoff) Gray, Harrison (Jennifer) Taylor, Paul (Sherry) Pettit, Michael Pettit, Mary (Charles) Hardiman and Yami (Domino) Wyman. Preceeded in death by her father, mother, brother, two sisters and her beloved grandson Rosario Lawrence. Sallie is further survived by grandchildren Lucrecia, Olivia, Samuel, Bridget, Eddie, Ruth, Rebecca, Alicia, Gabriella, Ricardo, Shawn, Jared, Geoffrey, Dorian, Khamani, Julian, Domino, Rosario, Nadia, Cyrus, Joseph, Monica, Annika, Harrison, Tanesha, great grandchildren Travis, Leah, Shawn, Olivia, Tyler, Alyssa, Samuel, Riley, Briannon, Alana, Emmanuel, Damian, Emiliano, AKIRA, Ricardo, Ava, Camille, Luke, Jaeden, Lailah, Noel, Matthias, Issac, Cole, Rory, Rosario, Luciano, Jordan, Eliu, Mason, Chelsea, Taylor and great great grandchildren Alicia, Antonio, Ileana, Trace, Eli, David, Paige, Jesse, Braelynn, Norah Rose, Aubrey.

Sallie will be remembered as the loving and wonderful matriarch of such a large and diverse family as well as a model (she was one of the original Miller girls), the co-founder of the Ecumenical Refugee Council, an amazing humanitarian both locally in Milwaukee as well as internationally and a lifetime member of the All Saints Episcopal Cathedral community.

Family and friends will gather at The Cathedral of All Saints, 818 E. Juneau Ave. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of Memorial Services at 11:00 AM.

Floral donations welcome, monetary memorials are also welcome and will be donated to the All Saints Episcopal Cathedral fund in Sallie's name.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers Pauline, Gina, Veda, the nurse daughters and the staff of Heartland Hospice, and her two sixteen-year-old grandsons who all cared for Sallie in her final days.
