RuthAnn Pettibone, age 91, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. RuthAnn was born in Lima, Ohio, April 18, 1924, daughter of the late William and Sylvia (Nee: Balmer) Chidester.

On May 3, 1943 she was united in marriage to Bradley J. Pettibone whom she shared seventy-two beautiful years together. An avid golfer, RuthAnn won the senior golf outing at the Racine Country Club, where she was a longtime member. She also enjoyed her extensive travels with her husband, playing bridge, reading and crossword puzzles. Most of all she devoted and cherished time spent with her family.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Bradley; her children, Craig Pettibone of St. Louis, MO, Carol (David) Anderson of Lincolnshire, IL, Richard (Ann) Pettibone, Sandra (Joseph) Fox, all of Racine; her grandchildren, Jonathon (Cathy) Pettibone, Jason Pettibone, Steven Anderson, Ryan Pettibone, Evan Pettibone, Andrew Pettibone; her great-grandchildren, Emma, Bennett and Kayla. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Karen Pettibone; brothers and sister, Rev. Kent (Mary Jane) Chidester, Bernice (William) Short, Robert (Bunny) Chidester, Dale (Margaret) Chidester, Richard (Dorothy) Chidester; and Rev. Brice (Leola) Chidester.

Private family services will be held. Memorials to the Racine Art Museum or to United Church Homes, Fairhaven Community, 850 Marseilles Avenue, Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351 have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints for their loving and compassionate care.
