Ruth Stanfield

Died Tuesday morning September 20, 2016. Ruth was born April 19, 1927 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Ernest and Martha (Bischoff) Leach. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Meijer's for 24 years, retiring in 1988. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert L. Stanfield on January 3, 1962; 2 sons, Charles and Richard Stanfield; 2 sisters, Margaret and Esther; and a brother, Kenneth. She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna (Delbert) Gary of Portage, MI and Deborah (Richard) Plank of Winter Haven, FL; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Stanfield of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday, September 28th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the S.P.C.A. or Bronson Commons, Mattawan.
