Ruth Meabon

The Good Lord called her home Thursday, October 19, 2017 at her home. Ruth was born March 5, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Ike and Ethel Murawchik. Ruth had lived in the Bangor and Paw Paw areas for many years and spent some winters in Charleston South Carolina. Ruth loved going to the Allegan County Fair and playing bingo as well as the occasional trip to the casino. Ruth loved shopping, for herself and especially for others. She was a fan of Betty Boop and loved watching the western channels and any Charles Bronson Movies. Ruth was a great Yahtzee player and rarely lost a game. Surviving are her 4 children, Suzanne Cox of South Carolina, Dale Meabon of Mattawan, Darrell Meabon of Kalamazoo and Sharon (Randy Hay) Meabon of Paw Paw; 4 grandchildren, Cullen (Melinda) Cox, Cyle (Aimee) Cox, Jacy (John) Farrell and Mandy (Ifeanyi) Chiejina; 4 great grandchildren, Ronald Hoard, Chelsi Hoard, Michael and Chloe Chiejina; a sister Shirley Swan of Arkansas; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, sons Ronald and Larry, 2 sisters, Melva Ciris and Madelyn Smith. The family will meet friends on Thursday from 5 - 8 PM at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11AM. Interment will follow in Arlington Hill Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
