Obituary
Ruth Ann Buck, age 84, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026. She was born on August 10, 1942, in Park Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of James John Sr. and Mildred Fern (Larsen) Pollock.
Ruth's greatest joy in life was her family. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She loved bringing her large family together for holidays, opening her home to everyone and preparing meals for those she loved. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, good food, and treasured memories.
Ruth took great pride in her home and meticulously cared for her beautiful flower beds, where roses and peonies were among her favorites. She enjoyed feeding the squirrels and watching the birds splash and play in her birdbaths. She had a special fondness for lighthouses and enjoyed trips to South Haven and Presque Isle to visit them. When her children were younger, Ruth enjoyed traveling with her family and exploring destinations across the country, including the West Coast, East Coast, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
At home, Ruth found enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching the fish in her aquarium, relaxing with the Gameshow Network, and spending time with her beloved dog, Mitsy. Above all, she treasured the people who filled her life and the home she worked so hard to make a welcoming place for her family.
Ruth married Wayne Rogusta Sr., and they shared their lives together until his passing in 1981. She later married Richard Buck Sr., and they shared 31 years together until his passing in 2013.
Ruth is survived by her children, Anna Carlisle; Wayne Jr. (Glenda) Rogusta; Sue Goldsmith; Teresa Buck; Edward (Tammie) Rogusta; Steven (Linda) Rogusta; Darwin (Sian) Rogusta; and Elizabeth (Doug Boehm) Rogusta; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters Ellen Chunko, Grace Burridge, and Mildred Shambeau; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Wayne Rogusta Sr. and Richard Buck Sr.; sister Margaret Quagon; brothers Monteford and James Jr. Pollock; and sons-in-law Kenneth, Tony, and Gilbert.
