Ruth and Bill were married in New York City March 18, 1944 before Bill was shipped overseas. Ruth and Bill moved to Grand Haven in 1950 where both were active in St. John's Episcopal Church for over 50 years. Ruth served the church as a member of numerous guilds and manager of the church thrift shop. She was a volunteer buyer for the North Ottawa Hospital Gift Shop and a member of Eastern Star. Ruth enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was noted for her skills as a gracious hostess. After Bill's death, Ruth moved to Kalamazoo to be near her children, but always kept Grand Haven in her heart as her true home. Ruth is survived by daughter Carol (Larry) Edinger of Mattawan, son Bill (Cindy) Booth of Paw Paw; grandchildren Ben (Lydia) Edinger of Grand Haven, Jeff (Fiance Sarah Hurd) Edinger of Kalamazoo, Jenny (Craig) Roddis of Kalamazoo and Christie (Justin) Smith of Bloomfield Hills; great grandchildren Libby and James Edinger of Grand Haven; nieces, nephews and dear friends.
