Ruby M. Tomasek, age 88, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Ruby was born in Racine, October 13, 1927, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Nee: Hric) Pavlik.

On July 20, 1957 she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Tomasek who preceded her in death, May 6, 2002. They shared forty-five wonderful years together, spending their retirement in Punta Gorda, Florida. Ruby was employed with the F.B.I. for thirty-one years. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Racine Yacht Club. Her pastimes included boating, golfing, and traveling, especially to the Orient and Europe.

She will be dearly missed by her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemary Purdy, Janice Tomasek, James (Gerri) Tomasek; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia (Morris) Olson; brothers-in-law, Frank, John, Edward, and Carl Tomasek; and Frank Purdy.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main Street, with Rev. Jakes Voker officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church have been suggested.
