Rosalee Meier (McGehee), 80, of The Villages, FL, died on Friday, August 19, 2016. Rosalee was born December 10, 1935, in Piggott, Arkansas, to Harvey and Rosa McGehee, the fifth of six children. When Rosalee was four her family moved to Michigan. It was in Kalamazoo where she met and eloped to marry the love of her life, Jack R. Meier, on May 19, 1956. They were married until his death in 2004. Together, Jack and Rosalee raised four children in Richland, Michigan: Jack Jr. (Mary), Jeff (Krista), Sheryl, and Joel. Over time, Rosalee worked as an in-home daycare provider, a secretary, a property manager, and, finally, as an office administrative assistant in The Villages until her retirement in 2012. She is predeceased by her brothers Howard and Herman, her sister, Mary Kay, and her youngest son, Joel. She is survived by her sister, Norma (Bob) Hartman, sisters-in-law, Shirley Sincler, and Judy (Ron) Kohler, and many nephews and nieces. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Ione (Ryan), Jacob, and Joseph. She also leaves behind beloved grand-shelties, Henry, Louis, and Roxy.The family also would like to acknowledge the many members of her Villages "family", who provided much love and support for her, as their consideration, love and help cannot be measured. She often commented on how she could not have had the life that she did without the thoughtfulness and companionship of Jean, Tom, Mary Jo, Robin and many others in her later years.Memorial services in Florida and Michigan are to be determined.
