Ronnell Stratton

Age 68, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Bronson Hospital with family at his side. Ron was born in Kalamazoo on August 16, 1949, the son of Donnell and Marise (Rynd) Stratton. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served our country with honor during the Vietnam War until being discharged. Ron was kind, loving and a joy to know. He was a hard worker who was employed as a heavy equipment operator for many years; most recently he was employed by Lounsbury Excavating. When not working Ron loved working on and being around cars. He loved drag racing and was fond of the Ford Mustang. He enjoyed spending time with friends and could often be found around the table at the Copper Grille. Ron was handy and could fix most anything. He also enjoyed woodworking and doing projects around the house. Above all he loved his family and leaves them with many wonderful memories. On June 17, 1972, he married the love of his life Kathy (Wonders) Stratton who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Chris (Kristi) Stratton and Brian Stratton; two grandchildren, Joyce and Grace; his mother, Marise (Dale) Cooper; a sister, Gale (David) Dudek; three brothers, Keith (Theresa) Stratton, Mike (Diane) Stratton and Jeff Stratton; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in passing by his father Donnell and a brother, David Stratton. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018, beginning at 1:00 PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 721 Pine St., Paw Paw, MI 49079, with Pastor Eric Gledhill officiating. He will be laid to rest at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Fallen Heroes, c/o the funeral home.
