Ronald Steger

Ronald Louis Steger went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 23, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Louis and Edith (Polito) Steger. Ronald is survived by: his wife Carole Steger of Kalamazoo; two daughters, Andrea (Scott) Hoogendyk of Holt, MI and Amy Steger of Battle Creek; a sister, Gloria Steger of Waterville, OH; a brother, Gregory Steger of Harris Township, MI; special friends, Rebecca and Joseph Craft; and three grandchildren, Jacob (Thereese) Hoogendyk, Halie Hoogendyk and Kayla Hoogendyk. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ronald worked as an engineer at Clarage Fan Co., for several years, he also did forensic work. He was a member of the Kalamazoo Missionary Church and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), he enjoyed oil painting, took pride in fixing things around the house and loved spending time with his family and close friends. A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Friday, May 17, 2013 at Kalamazoo Missionary Church, 5045 E. Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49048, visitation with family will begin at 4:30 PM and the celebration of life service will follow at 5:30 PM, Pastor Ken Smeader will officiate. Memorial donations may be given to Kalamazoo Missionary Church, Earth Mission, Alternatives of Kalamazoo, Youth for Christ or any charity of the donors' choice. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
