Ronald D. Israels Sr., age 80, of Holland died Saturday, October 10, 2015.

Ron was a charter member of Christ Memorial Church. Ron and his wife Shirley currently are members of Fellowship Reformed. He was employed at Brooks Beverage for 51 years. Ron and Shirley enjoyed their time camping at Poncho’s Pond in Ludington. For the last 10 years Ron did maintenance work for the campground. He was preceded in death by his son Todd Israels, son Ronald Israels Jr., brother Gerrit Israels Jr. and a sister-in-law Shirley Israels.

He is survived by his wife Shirley and children: Dan and Carolyn Shappee of Spring Lake, Jeff and Becky Israels of Saugatuck, Dottie and Gerry Glass of Holland, Michael and Elizabeth Israels of Holland and Brad Israels of Holland; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; mother-in-law: Gene Riker of Holland; sisters-in-law: Jennie Riker, Carolyn and Glynn Melton of Greenville and Susie Snyder of Loveland, CO

2 nieces and several cousins.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Fellowship Reformed Church, 300 N. 168th Avenue in Holland. Reverends Brian Keepers and Marijke Strong will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Mulder Chapel 188 west 32nd Street in Holland and one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Home – Mulder Chapel.
