Passed away Saturday June 30, 2018. Ron was born July 10, 1948 in Kalamazoo the son of the late Orville and Rosa Lee (Coburn) Allison and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. Ron was a veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver with Unifab and Eaton Corp before retiring from Maverick Express. Ron loved spending time with his family and talking to people in general. He was a second dad to many; especially to his son's best friends, Kevin Osborne and Sam Pinder. He enjoyed going to the gym, taking road trips, firearms, and cars in general. On October 10, 1970 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Marie (Fassnacht) who survives. Also surviving is his son, Todd (Melissa) Allison; sisters, Connie Cullen, Kay (Ron) Beals; sister-in-law, Peggy Alison; and many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by a brother, John Allison; and a brother-in-law, Harley Cullen. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Friday, July 6 and from 10:00-11:00 Saturday, July 7 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where a memorial service will be held starting at 11:00. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service in the Langeland Family Center. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
