Roland P. Van Dyck age 97 of Holland died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Haven Park Christian Nursing Home in Zeeland. Roland was born in Romona, OK on September 26, 1909 and graduated from Romona High School. He retired from Baker Furniture in 1971, was a member of the Central Park Reformed Church where he served as Sunday School Secretary for more than 62 years. Roland played trumpet in the American Legion Band, directed the Holland City Mission Band, and played in many area churches. Roland was preceded in death by his wife-Jeannette in 2006, sons-in-law-Curtis H. Brown in 1993 and Herb Wybenga in 2004 and a granddaughter-Lynn Rydell in 2005. Surviving are his children-Robert and Iris Van Dyck of Holland, Juanita Wybenga of Alma, and Sally Brown and Dean Heyboer of Holland; 12 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; several great and step great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brothers-John Van Dyck of Florida and Virgil and Janice Van Dyck of Oklahoma; in-laws-Beryl Van Dyck of Oklahoma, Marie Weighmink of Holland, and Grace Harthorn of Holland; nephews, nieces, and cousins. Services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Central Park Reformed Church, 614 Myrtle Ave., with the Rev. David Landegent officiating. Burial will be in the Graafschap Cemetery. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Holland City Mission or to ones choice.
