Roger L. a/k/a "The Dang Legend",age 84, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. He was born on September 2, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Gordon J. and Margaret Wedig. Roger honorably served our country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was married to Donna J. Sexton for 32 years and together they had four children. Roger was a business owner in residential and commercial construction and was also a member of the Sheet Metal Union. He loved country music and formed his own bands(Roger and the Good Timers and the Midwest Mountaineers). In 1988, he married Barbara Novitsky, most recently celebrating 30 years of marriage. Roger was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna, his parents, a brother, Gordon and a great grandson, Riley Rhodes. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara, children, Diana Chenoweth, Roger(Jana) Wedig; Tammy (Dennis) Kohler; Dawn (Jason) Fitch, Josey (Ray) Campbell; Susan (Scot) Moore and John Novitsky, 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Visitation for Roger will take place on Monday, January 21 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will take place at the funeral home on January 22, at 11 a.m. followed by a graveside service with full military honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or Wounded Warriors Project, c/o the funeral home.
