Roger Horein

Roger Albert Horein, age 89, passed away at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton, Florida on July 9, 2016. Roger was born on March 25, 1927 in Mishawaka, Indiana and lived in Michigan until he and his wife Billie retired and moved to Florida in 1993. Roger and Billie were very involved in their Neighborhood Watch Committee. They had a couple of speedbumps and a stop sign installed in order to curb speeding in their area. Roger and Billie were married for 60 years before her death in 2009.Roger enjoyed many things, from car repair, refinishing furniture, home improvements and of course video games. He played many video games with his grand-children and great-grandchildren. Roger enjoyed his solitaire games very much as well. Roger is survived by 3 sons, Michael Horein, Robert Horein and Thomas Horein, and 2 daughters, Katherine Campbell and Elizabeth Lang.He had 17 grandchildren. 1 grandson, his namesake, Roger T. Horein passed away on October 5, 2015. There are 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchilren.Roger enjoyed the companionship of Rita Dralus for the last 6 years of his life. Roger and Rita enjoyed some very nice cruises and jazz music concerts together. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 30th at Riverside Cemetery, 1015 Gull Road Kalamazoo, MI.
