Roger Cronkhite

Roger I Cronkhite, age 87, died on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Medilodge of Westwood from Cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan J. Cronkhite, Dora (Mann) Cronkhite), of Kalamazoo, his daughter Christine (Roger) Smith, of Niles and three Brothers, Stanley (Leona) Cronkhite, Richard (Rose) Cronkhite, of Kalamazoo, and Jerome (Carol) Cronkhite, of Knoxville, TN. And, one niece, Catherine Powers, of Gobles, MI.

He is survived by his sister, Kay (Charles) Powers, and several nieces and nephews, and several friends from James River, in Kalamazoo.

Roger was an avid billiard player with a reputation throughout the area for his skills. He worked as a metal edger at James River Corp for 40 years. He lived carefree, and in his own manner.

Roger will be interred at Mount Ever Rest Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

The family wishes to thank Medilodge of Westwood for providing a community and care for the past three years, and Hospice Services of Southwest Michigan for their help along Roger’s journey. Roger wishes the Staff of Mediloge to remember to wake up every day happy the same as he did.
