Rodney Holmes

HOLMES - Officer Rodney Allan Holmes, age 39, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2009. He was a 12 year officer with the Grandville Police Department and instrumental in the departments Honor Guard. He proudly served his country in the US Army for five years. He was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Holmes; step father, Carl "John" Svec, Sr.; brother-in-law, Marc Gmitter. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lindsi; the light of his life, his daughter, Elise; mother, Jelaine Svec; parents-in-law, John and Bev Vander Loo; sister-in-law, Sherri and Paul Smith; brother-in-law, Jeff Vander Loo; many brothers, sisters; mother of Elise, Jill Borden and the Borden family. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Jamestown Reformed Church, 2554 Riley St., Jamestown with Rev. Chad Pierce officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to benefit his daughter, Elise.
