Robert Roy

Roy, Robert Richard Portage Passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Age 95. Robert was born in Kalamazoo on November 12, 1921, the son of the late Bert Richard Roy and Gladys Mary (Daniels) Roy. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #475 in Schoolcraft. He belonged to the VA Trust Fund and the Civil War Historical Society. He was married to Annette (Clark) Roy; who preceded him in death in 1976. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Hyet and Judy (Joseph) Savasta; four grandchildren, Floyd M. "Bob" (Rochell) Hyet IV, Andrew J. (Nancy) Hyet, Cristina Savasta and Michele Savasta; one sister, Roma (Jack) Minshall; and three nieces, Gloria, Terri and Kate. He was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Ganger. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49002, www.langelands.com. Private interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Reverence Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice .
