Robert Mirque Sr.

Mr. Robert F. Mirque Sr. atty, aged 77, of Grand Rapids, a fighter pilot in the US Air Force and Veteran of Korean War, died peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2008. Surviving are his beloved best friend, Jan; his family, Robert F. Mirque Jr., Victoria (John) Herrmann, Jose (Sandra) Mirque, Pilar Blitchok and Karen Mirque; his grandchildren, Robert F. Mirque III, Christopher Mirque, Jonathan Mirque, Olivia Blitchok, Matthew Blitchok, Jack Herrmann, Michael Herrmann, Julian Mirque, Erek Mirque; a brother, Joseph (Mary) Mirque; his sister, Christina (Michael) Smyth; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene. Robert was a graduate of St. John's University and Santa Clara University Law School and a member of Michigan Bar Association. He was an accomplished pilot and flight instructor, an avid fly fisherman, world traveler and a Devout Catholic. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Isidore Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Monday 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Arsulowicz Brothers, East Mortuary, 937 Michigan NE, where a Vigil Service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions to Ronald McDonald House will be appreciated.
