Robert Meyer

Robert (Bob) Meyer, Jr., 71, of Vicksburg, MI peacefully passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 from a rare bone marrow cancer. He was at home surrounded by his family and dear neighbors. Bob came from working class stock and was the first to graduate from college. He worked his way through without loans or assistance obtaining a Bsc. in math from The Ohio University. He formed a manufacturer's representative company then was recruited as National Sales Manager for Prab Conveyors eventually retiring as their VP Sales and Marketing. Additionally he was known for his love of music and telling really corny jokes! He is survived by his loving wife Margot of 35 happy years; treasured daughters Adriane Meyer (Dean Gluck), Columbus, OH; Ericka Meyer (Jack) Penick, New London, PA; Elise Meyer, Cincinnati, OH; stepsons Peter (Cristie) Lindemere of Hamshire, UK; Christopher (Stephanie) VanArsdale, Dandridge, TN; siblings Bonnie (Charles) McLaughlin, Lake Orion, MI; Brooke (Jane), Clayton, NC; Kevin (Denise), Hinckley, OH; 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Goldie (Aurelia Dorner) Meyer, Sr., Cleveland, OH. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial celebration next Spring. Bob requested in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , Shriner's Hospitals for Children , Disabled American Veterans or Paralyzed Veterans of America. Bob had many strengths; among them loyalty, honor, kindness, humor and most of all integrity. He had a saying "always do the right thing when no one is looking".
