Obituary
Age 75, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017. Bob was born in Kalamazoo on August 7, 1942, the son of the late Robert L., Sr. and Henrietta A. (TerBurg) Laverack. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1967. Bob retired from General Motors Company in 1999. He was a member of Mattawan Community Church and spent more than 15 years volunteering for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief program. Bob was also active with Boy Scouts of American; serving as a leader and mentor and received numerous awards recognizing his service to scouting. On May 16, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to the former Judith J. Hard, who survives. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Janettee, Robert III and Christopher Laverack; grandchildren, Anna, Kathrine and Alexandria Laverack and Steven Cook and great-grandchildren, Isiah and Ariana Gonzalez. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Laverack. A funeral service will be held at Joldersma and Klein Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jonathan Lam officiating. A committal service with military honors will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM.
