Robert J. Brandl, “Bob”, age 90, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Becker Shoop Center. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, July 8, 1926, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Nee: Taubenberger) Brandl.

Bob proudly served in the U.S Army during WWII under General George Patton in Europe. Following the war he graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison earning a degree in Business Administration. He was employed by the State of Wisconsin Department of Industry, Labor and Relations working in Appleton where he met “The Love of his Life” Alice M. Mulry. They married December 26, 1959. Bob was transferred to the Racine office in 1973 and worked until his retirement in 1993. Bob was a longtime member of the Racine Rotary Club, a member of VFW Post 1391, the Deutscher Manner Verein, and the Carl Schurz Memorial Park Assn. He was an excellent musician and loved to play the piano and enjoyed his Tuesday card nights at the German Club. Above all Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Alice, his son Steve (Elise) of Prescott, WI; 5 grandsons, Patrick (Katie) Jeff, Charlie (Jenni), Joe (Amy), Tom (Kate); great grandchildren, Jake, Brady, Ellie, Henry, Benny, Clara, and Steven; goddaughters, Lisa Schorr and Tami Schraufnagel; in-laws; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Davis.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes private services will be held with entombment at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to the charity of your choice have been suggested.
