Robert Hilton

Bob Hilton, age 85, passed away on Saturday morning April 17, 2021. He was born in Sturgis, Michigan on August 24, 1935, the son of Charles R. and Ethleyn (Peppiatt) Hilton. After graduating from Bronson High School, he attended Green's Barber Academy in Detroit, Michigan. Upon graduating, he began his long and storied career as owner/operator of Silver Shears on Sprinkle Road in Kalamazoo, retiring after 59 years of dedicated service to others. On September 16, 1956, he was married to the former Barbara Weeden and together they enjoyed 64 years of marriage. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Terry Lee Hilton, two brothers and their wives, Charles (Lettie) Hilton, Max (Betty) Hilton. He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Barbara, their children, Robert Willard (Corajean) Hilton and Paulette Hilton (Wilbur Klosterman), four beloved grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two adored sisters, Elizabeth Wagner and Linda (John) Finch, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place and a gathering to celebrate his life will occur later, this spring.
