Robert Gildea

Robert "Bob" J. Gildea, age 55, of Springfield formerly of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Bob was born in Kalamazoo on June 11, 1961, the son of Lyle D. and Sharon M. (Davis) Gildea. He was a graduate of Portage Central High School, received his Associates degree from MiraCosta College and his B.S. degree from Michigan State University. Bob was employed as a Chemical Operator for the Pfizer company. He was an avid skier, golfer and bowler and especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing baseball. Bob leaves behind his wife, Margaret; children, Mady, Robert II and Joey Gildea; mother, Sharon Gildea and siblings, Kevin Gildea, Jan (Steve) Crow and Tammy Gildea-Bird. He is also survived by his mother in-law, Carol Gilcher; sister in-law, Melissa (Paul) Filip; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his dog, Jamie. Bob was preceded in death by his father and father in-law, Gill Gilcher. In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Gildea Home. Memorial contributions may be given to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society.
