Robert Freeman

Robert Kenneth Freeman, age 84, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Robert was born on July 2, 1932 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Kenneth and Lillian (Stevens) Freeman. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a pressman for Kalamazoo Label Company, retiring after 44 years of service. He belonged to Northeastern Baptist Church. He enjoyed crafts, doing crossword puzzles and volunteering. He was married to Shirley (Cox) Freeman on September 5, 1980; she preceded him in death on April 29, 2016. He is survived by children, David (Marie) Freeman of Kalamazoo, Michael (Laura) Freeman of Bangor, ME, daughter-in-law, Marcia Freeman of Wayland, Lenny J. Cox of Kalamazoo and Louie V. Cox of Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; his brother, Jerome (Phyllis) Delamater of Las Vegas, NV and sister-in-law, Joann Freeman of Portage. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Freeman; his brother, Larry Freeman; and his sister, Jaqueline Cox. Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Nathan Pierpont will officiate with interment in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
