Surrounded by his loving family, Robert E. Lindsay, age 83, passed away Monday morning, June 26, 2017. Bob was born in Tilden, Illinois, June 20th, 1934, son of the late Eugene and Roberta (Nee: McQuater) Lindsay.

On June 9, 1956 in Monmouth, IL he was united in marriage to Kathryn “Mary Kay” M. Bishop, who preceded him in death, January 25, 2012. Bob, a tennis teaching professional, was an integral part of Racine’s tennis community. For over fifty years Bob was an instructor, coach, and mentor at Racine Unified, Racine Tennis Club, Meadowbrook Country Club and the North Shore Club. He organized the Belle City Tennis Tournament, Wisconsin State Open and was a lifelong member of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Bob was an avid reader and advocate of the Racine Library and Bookmobile. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and volunteered at the Northside Food Pantry. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family, and will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Linda (Tom) Groose of Glendale, WI, Laura (Scott) French of Racine, Lisa (Don) Sattler of Poplar Grove, IL, RJ Lindsay (Jessica Knierim) of Racine; his eight grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Groose and Adam (Megan) Groose, Jennifer, Rachel, and Samuel French, Brandon and Josh Sattler, Nick Lindsay; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Portia and Patsy.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie Street, with Rev. Don Francis officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family Friday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 P.M. Private interment will be held at Country Haven Cemetery, Caledonia.
