Robert Bodzianowski

Passed away Tuesday evening, May 22, 2018 at his home. Robert was born December 23, 1938 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Stanley and Catherine (Zombek) Bodzianowski. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and earned a Master's Degree from DePaul University. Prior to his retirement he was the Senior Vice President of First of America Bank (now PNC). Robert was a member of St. Catherine of Siena. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Robert enjoyed collecting coins; antiquing, and all Chicago sports. He was very active in the community and enjoyed various activities in the area. Robert had a great sense of humor and he liked to put a smile on the face of everyone he met. On May 28, 1966 he was united in marriage to his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Christine (Mazurek), who survives. Also surviving are his children, Stephen (Tammy) Bodzianowski, Michael Bodzianowski, Susan (John) Hurst, Julie (Zachary) McCallum; 8 granndchildren, Erika (Phillip) Savage, Jacob, Makena, Sydnie, Hillary, Logan, Olivia; great-granddaughter, Emma Claire; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by an infant son, Stanley; and a sister, Shirley Byrne. Friends may meet the family from 5-8pm Friday, May 25 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street and one hour prior to the service at church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Saturday, May 26 at St. Catherine of Siena, 1150 West Centre Ave with Fr. Stanley Witek presiding. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
