Robert "Bob" Daniels

Daniels, Robert "Bob" Plainwell, MI Robert "Bob" Daniels of Plainwell, MI passed away surrounded by family on February 19, 2023. The son of Dennis and Corine (Jorgensen) Daniels, Bob was born at Borgess-Pipp Hospital in Plainwell, Michigan. Bob and his family lived in several locations across West Michigan as he grew up, and he made many memories with friends and family in Gobles and Comstock before returning to Plainwell for most of his adult life. On June 9, 1989, Bob married the love of his life, Susan Douglas. Through good times and hard times, Bob and Sue remained committed to loving each other for 33 years of marriage. They shared many things, including the same birthday, January 20. The couple became proud parents to their daughter, Anastasia "Stacie" in 1989, and were overjoyed when their grandson, Alexander "Alex", was born in 2013. Additionally, Bob and Sue welcomed Stacie's best friend, Becca, into their family as another daughter. Becca and her husband, Aaron, gave Bob and Sue seven more grandchildren to love. In addition to being a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Bob was a successful carpenter for many years. He built their family home that has been cherished and blessed with love for decades. He enjoyed building homes and home improvements, and he was always willing to use his skills to help others. Growing up with many farm animals and a vegetable garden, it's no surprise that Bob also enjoyed hunting, kayaking, camping, hiking and being outdoors. On February 3, 2023, Bob was baptized in Lighthouse Baptist Church, which he built with his long time friend Lance, in the early 2000s. His faith in his Lord Jesus Christ was especially important to him and he held onto that faith as he endured cancer treatments in his final years on Earth. Through any trial he faced, Bob's love for his family never wavered, and he is deeply missed by all who loved him. Bob is survived by his mother, Corine Daniels; daughters Stacie (Joe) Richmond and Becca (Aaron) Lynema; grandchildren Alex Lundberg, Brayden, Alice, Carter, Matthew, Olivia, Emilia, and Liliana Lynema; siblings April Perkins, Dennis Daniels Jr., and Tammy Shannon; mother-in-law Connie Douglas; sister-in-law Sarah Swafford; brother-in-law Rick (Rebecca) Douglas, many nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as extended family. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Susan Daniels, by his father, Dennis C. Daniels Sr., and his father-in-law Fredrick Douglas. A visitation to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Friday, February 24 at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. Both the visitation and the funeral will be held at Winkel Funeral Home, 207 E Allegan St, Otsego, MI 49078. Memorial contributions in Bob's honor can be made to the Bronson Cancer Center.
