Robert Amidon

Robert W. Amidon, age 77, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Tuesday evening, August 30, 2016 at Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw. He was born on October 31, 1938 in Chicago, IL the son of the late William F. and Florence A. (Thommen) Amidon. Bob earned a Master's degree and worked as a social worker most of this life. On July 26, 1997, he was married to Theresa (Strauss) Newberry Amidon, who survives. Also surviving are his two step-children, Chad (Regina) Newberry and Matt Newberry; six step-grandchildren, Megan (Cody) Bentley, Scott Hall, Katelyn Newberry, Derrek Newberry, Elizabeth Newberry and Lucas Newberry; three sisters, Anita Rummery, Eileen (Jessie) David and Nancy Kenney; and several nieces and nephews. A service celebrating Robert's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Sept. 3, at First Baptist Church, 32464 E. Red Arrow Hwy, Paw Paw. Pastor Buddy Turner will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Arrangements were entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes.
