Richard Wiersma, Sr.

Wiersma, Sr., Richard Garrett Gobles, MI Loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017. Age 73. Richard was born in Kalamazoo on December 16, 1943, the son of the late Myron and Merle (Dean) Wiersma. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Beverly (Cray) Wiersma; his children, Melissa Wiersma, Richard (Marisa) Wiersma Jr., and Debbie Ekola; grandchildren, Kristina Chambers, Lisa Tsvekoff, Cody, Bill, Trevor, Jessica and Brooke Wiersma, Nathan (Keli) Ekola and their son, Benjamin, and Ashley (Doug) McKay; and his best friend, Duane Smith. According to Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Great Lakes Hospice.
