Richard T. Caffery

Richard T. Caffery (age 79) passed away on Saturday, March 28th. Born in Davenport, Iowa on July 27, 1935 he was the son of William and Frances Caffery.

On Feb. 11, 1956 he married Sonya S. Nelson at St. Joseph’s Church in Davenport, Iowa and relocated to Racine, Wis. in 1962. He graduated from St. Ambrose College in 1957 and worked for the Case Corporation for the next forty years. He was active in the Traffic and Transportation Society and was past President of the Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity. He was a member of St. Mary’s By The Lake Parish. Sonya Caffery, his brother Bill (Frisco, CO), and his brother Jack (Davenport, Iowa), all preceded him in death.

Mr. Caffery is survived by three children: Terrie Annacchino (Marc) of Greenfield, WI, Tim Caffery (Lisa) and Tonya Tougas (Troy), both of Racine; and seven grandchildren; Angel Thompson (Jon), Ashley and Alecia Annacchino, Amanda Caffery, Lauren Simon (Chris), Terra and Taylor Tougas and one great-grandchild Ben Thompson.

On April 18, 2009, he married Mary Ann Beaudry, (Rock Island, IL) who passed away on Dec 2, 2012. Her children were Adrianne Doeckel (Mike) and Eric Beaudry.

Visitation will be held at the Maresh- Meredith Funeral Home, Racine, WI on Wednesday April 1, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service with the Rev Stephen J. Stradinger officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. A reception for family and friends will follow at the Yardarm Restaurant from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Memorials to St. Mary’s By The Lake has been suggested.
