Richard Roundhouse

Passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Wings Home in Allegan. Richard was born July 2, 1927 in Kalamazoo, son of the late Herbert and Anna Roundhouse and had lived in Bloomingdale the past 69 years. Richard honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy where he served in WWII. He attended Kalamazoo Christian High School until entering the Navy. After discharge Richard graduated from Bloomingdale High School. He worked for the Upjohn Company for 40 years as a Pipe Fitter. Richard also served his community as a member of the Bloomingdale Fire Department for 70 years, during that time he held many positions from Firefighter to Chief. Richard loved hunting, fishing, trapping and was a sports enthusiast. Surviving is his wife of 69 years Donna; son Ron; grandchildren, Terri (Joseph) Howard and Randy (Amanda) Roundhouse; great grandchildren, Jason and Joshua Howard, Addalyn and Reese Roundhouse; 2 sisters Shirley Kloosterman and Evelyn Broekhuizen; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Herb, daughter-in-law Ginny, and 2 brother-in-laws, Gerrit Kloosterman and Garret Broekhuizen. The family will meet friends on Tuesday from 4 - 7 PM at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 11 AM at the Bloomingdale Christian Church. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bloomingdale Volunteer Firefighters.
