Richard Peter Jarvis, age 79, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. He was born in Waukesha, August 18, 1937, son of the late Clarence and Ava Marie (Nee: St. Peter) Jarvis.

Dick graduated from Catholic Memorial High School “Class of 1955”. On September 20, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Waukesha, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beverly J. Wagner. Dick was a newspaper printer employed by The Waukesha Daily Freeman, the Milwaukee Journal and from 1965 – 1980 by the Racine Journal Times. In 1980 the technological advancement of the computer eliminated Dick’s position and he then worked for Kortendick’s Hardware retiring in 1998. Dick was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the German Shepherd Club of Wisconsin, and was a former member of Racine Kennel Club. He enjoyed training and showing his dogs, reading, camping, grilling, and just being outdoors. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 58 years, Bev; his children, Richard (Terri) Jarvis, Kathleen Cesarz; grandchildren, Stephen and Kelly Jarvis, Taylor, Clayton, Morgan, and Ryan Cesarz; in laws, Gilbert and Sally Wagner, Mary Wagner, Loretta Wagner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Craig Cesarz and his sister, Ava Marie Blakesley.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 25, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Reverend Terry Huebner officiating. Private interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Waukesha. Relatives and friends may meet Thursday at the church, 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the WFAS ICU Staff, the surgical team and the Cath Lab Staff for their loving and compassionate care.
