Richard Lehn

Richard Edward Lehn, 68, of Traverse City, died, Friday, March 7, 2014.

He was born on May 19, 1945 in Traverse City the son of Ernest John and Elsie Marie (Beard) Lehn.

Richard graduated from Traverse City High School. He retired from Jacklin Steel after 46 years of service.

He loved spending time with his family. Richard also loved his John Deere tractors and riding his Spyder motorcycle. He enjoyed watching his sons race cars. Summers were spent working on his garden and helping his son, Daryl at the farm. He especially liked spring plowing. He looked forward to hunting season. He traveled to his cabin in the Upper Peninsula, competed in many antique tractor pulls and drove his tractor in the parade across the Mackinac Bridge. Richard was well known for taking pride in working in his yard and building his many projects in his work shop.

He attended Bay Pointe Church with Sharon and was member of the Eastern UP Antique Tractor Association.

Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon (Weathers) Lehn who he married on Jan. 1, 1990; children, John (Dottie) Lehn, Daryl (Tina) Lehn, Lisa (Scott) Strait, Debbie (Sean) Lehn and Joyce (Scott) Harrington; grandchildren, Aaron, Ashley, Mikayla, Andrew, Jacob, Mandy, Jason, Adam, Jacob, Jenni, Connor, Molly and David; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Joanna, Abbi and Parker; brothers, Roger (Maggie) Lehn, Joe (Claudia) Lehn, Rodney (Sandy) Lehn, Doug (Lois) Lehn and sister, Nettie (Kirt) Young.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Dawn Marie.

Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. The family will greet friends starting at 9 a.m.
