Richard Irwin

Richard Gary Irwin, age 64, of Kalamazoo, MI went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 9, 2018 with family by his side. Gary was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on March 12, 1953, the son of Donald J. and JoAnn (Nulf) Irwin. He was a graduate of Gull Lake High School and KVCC and attended Western Michigan University. Gary was also an Eagle Scout and worked as a lifeguard during the summers at Scout Camp. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman, stationed in Germany. While in the Army he also traveled to Italy and Switzerland. Gary worked as a journeyman mold maker. In addition to his parents, Gary is survived by his daughter, Christina (Zach) Gallan and friend, Cindy Buch. He was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Kay Irwin. A memorial service will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with visitation taking place 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date at Battle Creek Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.
