Richard L. Giesing, age 92, of Middleville, MI died on Monday evening, July 18, 2016. We lost one of the kindest and most giving individuals we have ever known. Richard was born January 3, 1924 in Detroit, MI the son of Charles and Margaret (Botts) Dickerson. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Wendling, England in the 392nd Bomber Group. He had been a resident of Montgomery, AL, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo most of his life and was employed with Michigan Bell for 36 years retiring in 1984. He was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Cooper Congregational Church in Cooper Township; 8th Air Force Historical Society; the Grand Raids Exchange Club; and AT&T Pioneer Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian C. Giesing and wife, Rita E. Giesing. He is survived by 2 children, Susan (Douglas) Giesing Williams of Harbor Springs, MI, John (Susan) Giesing of Corpus Christi, TX and formerly of Kansas City, MO; niece, Alyce (Charles) Tice; and nephews, William (Sandra) Colyer, Paul (Barbara) Colyer, George (JoAnn) Colyer, Jr, and Walter (Kathy) Colyer. Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 23 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick with Pastor Robert Clinton officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Saturday from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
