Richard "Dick" Faul, age 91, of Paw Paw, MI passed away peacefully Saturday, October 15, 2016, at White Oaks Assisted Living Facility surrounded by the love of his family. Born September 14, 1925, the son of Frank and Dorothy (Davis) Faul, he was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, Pacific Theatre. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he attended and received his BA from Indiana University School of Business. He remained a lifelong fan of Hoosier basketball. On July 5, 1950, Dick was united in marriage to the love of his life for 66 years, Betty (Marbry) Faul, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter Susan (Fred) Coker and two sons Jim Faul and John (Carie) Faul. His son Steven Faul preceded him in death. Also surviving are granddaughter Ayrica (Omar) Bakri, grandson John (Danielle) Coker, grandson Mac Faul, granddaughter Mo Faul, three great grandchildren (Isaac Bakri, Kian Bakri, Noelle Coker). Dick began his career in the insurance industry working in Chicago and Indianapolis before he and Betty relocated to Paw Paw where he founded and operated his own agency, Ranson-Faul Insurance Agency, for over 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion, McGowan Johnson Post # 68, a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw, and volunteered time to many local service agencies as a dedicated community member. Dick loved to travel with Betty to all parts of the world, especially enjoying trips to Europe. Being in the risk management business, Las Vegas was a frequent destination as well. He was known to play more than a few rounds of golf followed with games of bridge. Most of all, he was a man of integrity with a love for family, friends, his community, and a year after year after year devotion to the Chicago Cubs. The family wishes to thank special family friends, Mark Meconi and Cheryl Lammers, for their presence and who he considered as a son and a daughter. The family would also like to acknowledge and gratefully thank the staff of White Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Lawton and Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan who with grace and mercy gave dignity to his passing. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dick's life will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw. Friends will be received at 11am with the service to follow at Noon with Rev. Tiffany McCafferty officiating. Internment with military honors at Prospect Hill Cemetery will be immediately following. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions in Dick's honor may do so to the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw or Eleanor's Pantry. Adams Funeral Home Paw Paw
