Richard Andres, 70, of Beal City passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, at McLaren Bay Special Care in Bay City surrounded by his family. A Funeral Mass for Duke will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father Rob Howe as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery concluding with a luncheon at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. The family will receive friends in the gathering room of the church on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Bay Special Care. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home.

Duke was born February 23, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Aloysius and Monica (Sheahan) Andres. A 1966 graduate of Beal City High School, Dick married Barbara (Scott) Pasch on February 23, 1973, at St. Joseph the Worker Church where he was a lifelong member and served as Eucharistic minister. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and playing cards.

Duke was a dairy farmer most of his life, retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Beal City Knights of Columbus Council 3651 and former Beal City School Board member. But more than anything, Duke loved his family, and especially loved spoiling his grandchildren.

Duke is survived by his wife, Barbara; four children, Tammy (Kirk) Chase of Traverse City, Patrick (Marissa) Andres of Bossier City, LA, Adrienne ‘Addie’ (Stephen) Pritchard of Beal City, and Amanda (Jake) Moeggenborg of Shepherd; 11 grandchildren, Cassandra Chase, Kole, Cade, Canaan, and Kalia Andres, Logan, Max, and Piper Pritchard, and Jude, Marin, and Jasper Moeggenborg; seven siblings, Philip (LDonna) Andres of Commerce Twp., Gerald (Marcia) Andres of Clarkston, Robert (Pam) Andres of Muskegon, Mary (Robert) Pasch of Beal City, Marge (David) Allen of Whitmore Lake, Joseph (Elaine) Andres and Jean (Randy) Fouty both of Beal City; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Abe Pasch (Duke’s Godson), and Brian Andres; sister-in-law, Pat LaMay of Beal City; brother-in-law, Tom Scott of Mt. Pleasant; and close friend, Randy Yuncker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Monica Andres; mother-in-law, Thelma Scott; sister and brother-in-law, Jacqueline and Ron Pung; and two nephews, Joey Pung and Justin Andres.
