Richard R. "Dick" Ueck, Sr. age 81, of Plainwell, MI passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his home in Plainwell. He was born December 21, 1935 in Benton Harbor, MI, the son of Arthur and Cecelia (Miller) Ueck. Dick served his country in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. For many years he had worked for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in the Parks and Waterways Divisions until his retirement in 1992. In his spare time Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to his cabin up north. He was a member of Gun River Skeet & Trap Club and Grouse Tales. On January 7, 1956 in Benton Harbor he married Margaret "Jeanne" Bacon who survives. Also surviving are his children, Patricia Ueck and Richard Jr. (Dawn) Ueck; grandchildren, Arthur Ueck and Hillary Ueck; brother-in-law, Robert Bacon; sister-in-law, Betsy Bacon; cousin, Josie Taube, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; cousin, Tom Taube and special uncle, Wilbur Ueck. A private family service will be held with burial at Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor.
