Surrounded by his loving family, Richard J. “Dick” Heck Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his residence. Dick was born in Racine, March 22, 1928, son of the late Clarence and Frances (Nee: Pier) Heck.

During the Korean War, Dick proudly served in the United States Army. Dick was united in marriage to the love of his life, Cecelia Mae Catrine on April 24, 1954 at St. Rita Catholic Church, where he was a long-time and active member. He was also a lifetime member of Roma Lodge, a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Northside Businessmen Association. Beginning his career with his father and uncle at Keystone T.V. & Appliance, Dick carried on the family tradition for the next sixty-two years as owner and operator. Dick was a kind, loving, hardworking and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking and will be fondly remembered for his scrumptious fudge and delicious popcorn. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Cel; his children, Rick Heck, Barbara (Dave) Schneider, Jim (Karen) Heck, Sherry Heck; his grandchildren, Angela Maynard, Melissa (David) Delaney, Ryan Schneider, Nick Schneider, Teresa Schneider, Matthew Heck, Robert Heck, Molly Heck; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Larry (Nancy) Heck; Robert (Lorraine) Heck, Clarence (Mary) Heck, Gene (Carol) Heck, Margie (Don) Johnson, Delores (Bernie) Kunka, Shirley Heck, Mary Kay (Dave) Hansen, Donna (Al) Benedict; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann (Dr. Jim) Magestro, Teri (Lee) Miller; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Avenue Monday, August 31, 2015, 10:30 a.m., with Rev. James Wenzel officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (Roma Lodge Service at 4:00 P.M.) and Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
