Fish, Rev. Gerald A. of Shelbyville formerly of Kalamazoo Jerry went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, July 14, 2016 at Wings Home in Allegan. He was born on October 1, 1926 in Dowagiac, the son of the late Guy and Marion (Pierce) Fish. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II and the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict serving in the South Pacific and the Philippine Islands; and also served in the US Army Reserve for 3 years. He had a love for God and his country. Jerry was employed by Consumers Power as a lineman for 41 years until his retirement. With his strong love for the Lord, he became an ordained minister and served in many capacities. Jerry was an active member of the Shelbyville United Methodist Church and previously at Oakwood United Methodist Church. He was a Boy Scout Leader with Oakwood Methodist Church Troop 16 with his 2 sons. Jerry was an active and proud member of Otsego American Legion Post #84, Otsego VFW Post #3030, and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling and motorcycles. On February 18, 1945, he was married to Virginia (Niles) Fish, who preceded him in death on June 29, 2002. On November 29, 2003, he was married to Barb (Morris) Fish, who survives. Also surviving are three children: Judy (Ron) Hardy, Ken (Julie) Fisher, and Diane (Randy) Cheng; daughter-in-law: Myra Fish; three step-children: Jim (Sharon) Morris, Todd Morris and Bettejean (Dave) Bakutis; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; sister: Lois Foster of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were his son: Jerry Fish; grandson: Chad Priest; sister: Louise Frank and half-brother: Charles Kelly. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, July 19, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Interment will be at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, July 20, at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, 3941 S. Westnedge Ave. A service to celebrate Rev. Fish's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 20 at Shelbyville United Methodist Church, 938 124th Avenue, with Pastor Sean Kidd officiating.
