On Tuesday, May 28, Raymon (Ray) Vernon Hill took his last breath here on earth and walked into the loving arms of Jesus. He was 87 years-old, and was surrounded by his devoted wife Kathy Hill (Zebell), and all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Shelley (Brett) Schuck, Morgan (Marcus) Kirby, Kenzington, Beckett, Devon Schuck, Barbara (Steven) Darr, Evan Darr, Teri (Jeffrey) Beebe, Kylie (Chris) Garcia, Tanner Barnes, Charlie (Aimee) Zebell, Fletcher, Samantha, Stephanie Wiltgen, Jack and Dawn Zebell. Ray is also survived by his sister, Linda (Gil) Weber and nephews, Scott and Stephen. Ray was a veteran of the 1950-1953 Korean war, where he proudly served in Japan. Ray also enjoyed a 35-year career in sales as a manufacturer's representative. He spent miles and miles behind the wheel doing his job and continued his love of driving well into his retirement years, when he took a part-time job driving cars to auction. Everyone that knew Ray, also knew what a die-hard Spartan fan he was. He and his beloved wife, Kathy, who spent the last 28 years together, enjoyed numerous MSU football games, both at the stadium and at home. Ray was also a lifetime Cubs fan and was ecstatic over the fact that he was able to witness them win the World Series championship before his departure. Ray never thought he would live to be 87 years-old, but The Lord had other plans. He blessed so many with his loving spirit, and we look forward to celebrating him and rejoicing in the fact that he is now home. We will do this on Saturday, June 1st at Centerpoint Church, 2345 10th St. N., Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 pm and we will begin Ray's celebration service immediately afterwards. Luncheon to follow. If you'd like to send flowers, they may be sent to the church. However, we would prefer to have donations given to either the church or the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, as we are so grateful for their care. Their address is: 333 N. Summit St. P.O. Box 10086, Toledo, OH 43699-0086.
