Ralph H. Burns, Sr., age 83, of Paw Paw, MI passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. Ralph was born May 20, 1933 in Paw Paw the son of Marion and Frances (Gault) Burns and has lived in the Paw Paw area all of his life. He graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1950, then served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950 - 1953, he started working for Southerland Paper which became James River where he retired in 1995 after 44 years. Ralph was a lifetime member of the American Legion of Paw Paw, the Masonic Lodge, and was a member Covey Hill Baptist Church. He loved sports especially the Detroit Tigers and Lions, and loved family and being around people. Surviving are his son, Ralph Jr. of Mattawan; daughter, Pamela (Wayne) Bunn of Paw Paw; 2 grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mikayla; and 2 half sisters, Lonnie Leathers of Mattawan, Barbara Waters of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Burns; and half brother, Bill Ball. There will be a private memorial service at a later time, and burial of cremains will be in Covey Hill Cemetery, Almena Township. Arrangements were entrusted to the Gobles Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home
