Rachel Meyers

Meyers, Rachel Rachel Meyers, 56 of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville. A private family gathering will be held. Rachel was born December 6, 1959 in South Vietnam. Upon moving to the United States she met her future husband and partner in life, Joe Meyers. On May 12, 1983 they were married in Grand Rapids. Rachel attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College earning her Associate's Degree and Certificate for Respiratory Therapy. She went on to work as a respiratory therapist for Lakeland Health Care in St. Joseph. Rachel centered her life around her children. She loved shopping, dining out, cooking ethnic food, and attending her children's sporting events. Most of all, she cared and loved her family greatly. Rachel is survived by her husband Joe Meyers of Kalamazoo; children Dr. Jessica (Anthony) Phelps of Norton Shores, MI, Dr. Jacob (Alyssa) Meyers of Bryan, TX, Zachariah Meyers and Hannah Meyers both of Kalamazoo; grandson Rowan Phelps; three brothers; three sisters; brothers-in-law Dan Meyers of Lowell, MI and Tom (Caroline) Meyers of Kalamazoo; sister-in-law Jennifer Meyers-Hall of Zeeland, MI and father-in-law Howard Meyers of Belmont, MI.
